I welcome adolescents and young adults into my practice. Major changes are happening between the ages of 13 to 25 – it’s a time in every person’s life of great transition, with the potential for struggle and/or growth. It can be an exciting time full of hope, enthusiasm, and fun, but it can also be a scary time full of confusion, apprehension, and fear.
I look at my role with teens and young adults as a mentor in supporting the steps toward adulthood. I am most interested in how teens/young adults can “grow up” without losing the openness and vitality of their youth. How can we meet our adult responsibilities and obligations and still play, have fun, and enjoy life? How can we take the steps that will allow us to live a meaningful life?
I work with teenagers and young adults in individual therapy, as well as part of couples therapy and family therapy. I also offer groups for teenage boys.
